The Story So Far...
Once upon a time, not so very long ago, there was a young girl, who was hopelessly romantic and a
little eccentric - she didn´t care to be the same as everyone else. She loved to wear jewellery,
but thought something so special should be as individual as the person who wears it.
She was a little disappointed with what the shops had to offer so she decided that she should make her own.
The girl set about designing her own jewellery and with a little inspiration and a lot of hard work she
made a few pieces she was very proud of and wore them wherever she went.
Her friends would ask her where she got her jewellery from and if she could make some more.
Before long, she was busy making jewellery for her friends and their friends. Then One day a shop keeper
saw a ring she had made and asked if she could make a collection of jewellery to sell in the shop and just
like that in one all inspired moment Romantic Eccentric was born.
Hayley studied sculpture at Dudley College and went on to study fine art at Wolverhampton University.
She then went on to study gemology with the gemological association of Great Britain, choosing to
specialise in coloured gemstones.
Whilst studying her gemology degree she attended a silversmithing course and discovered her passion in life.
She attended many related courses from jewellery design to stone setting and set up a studio. With help from
the Princes Trust Hayley set up the company Romantic Eccentric.
Romantic Eccentric handmade jewellery has gone from strength to strength, regularly making the press and
magazines such as vogue, Hayley has also continued to move forward taking training with a former fabege
model maker, making jewellery to commission for celebrities and being featured on the television on such
programs such paul martins handmade revolution. Hayley was announced as a finalist in the 2012 entrepreneur
awards and is very open that she believes her passion for bespoke jewellery is key to her success.
